The Clear Choice in Fort Collins & Windsor
Here at Goings Orthodontics, we know our patients in Fort Collins and Windsor want options. Well, the choice is clear with our ceramic braces! Also known as tooth-colored or aesthetic braces, you’ll love how they straighten your smile with a super low profile.
More on Clear Braces
Goings Orthodontics designs our clear braces to be way less noticeable than traditional metal brackets. That’s thanks to the polycrystalline ceramic that blends right in with your teeth.
Our patients love how they blend right in with their natural smiles. Not only that, but thanks to advances in technology, they’re smaller and more comfortable than ever.
It’s important to remember that, even though they work just as well as traditional metal braces, they can be slightly more delicate than metal braces. That, plus their super-power as a discreet option, makes them best for older teens and adult patients.
Let Your Smile Speak for Itself
With clear braces, you’ll likely be the only one who can even tell you’re straightening your teeth. And if you pair ceramic braces with our clear, white, or tooth-colored elastic ties, you might even forget you’re wearing them.
Our ceramic braces really shine for patients interested in a more discreet treatment option than metal braces but who don’t want the hassle of dealing with removable aligners — or who aren’t exactly confident they’ll remember to keep their aligners in.
Although most patients love ceramics for their low-profile look, some prefer to pair them with colored ligature ties. This gives them a unique, almost neon look that really pops.
Comparing Ceramic & Metal Braces
Ceramic braces are awesome, but it’s important to know where and how they’re different. For example, metal braces really shine when it comes to durability and strength. With ceramics, they aren’t going to break just like that, but it is important to remember that they’re made of a slightly less durable material.
Since metal braces are better at withstanding pressure, Dr. Goings might decide they’re a better fit if your smile requires more significant corrective treatment.
Treatment times can also be a bit longer with ceramics, since adjustments will be slightly more compact.
Our patients often ask us about staining, but thanks to improvements in ceramic materials, that hasn’t been a major issue for years. While your ceramics won’t stain, you should remember that the both the adhesive and the elastics can.
Since the ceramics are so clear, stained elastics can be slightly more noticeable than with traditional brackets. To avoid that, some patients choose to forego things like coffee, tea, mustard, red wine, etc.
However, since we change your elastics each appointment, staining isn’t a huge issue. Provided you brush and floss like normal and listen to Dr. Goings’ instructions, you can have that morning coffee or nightly glass of red with confidence.
Ceramics Cost & Pricing Options in Fort Collins and Windsor
The materials that make up your braces go a long way toward determining the overall cost of your treatment. With that in mind, patients in Fort Collins and Windsor can expect to pay a little more for ceramic braces than traditional metal brackets.
Luckily, Goings Orthodontics is dedicated to working with our patients to develop customized payment plans and automatic bank drafts to work with most budgets. Plus, we’ll work with your insurance company to ensure you receive all the coverage you’re entitled to.
Depending on the difficulty of your treatment plan, you can also expect to pay a little more or less. Dr. Goings and the team are dedicated to providing you with the absolute highest degree of care, and we will work with you to ensure your treatment fits your budget.
Since ceramics are more delicate and require a greater degree of time and effort to install and adjust, that factors into their overall cost as well.
Don't hesitate to ask our treatment coordinators any and all questions you may have during your first free consultation.
Older Teens & Adults Love Ceramics
Dr. Goings will always work with you to choose the treatment that best suits your lifestyle and smile goals.
At Goings Orthodontics, we see our adult and older teen patients responding best to ceramic braces. Since they’re a bit more delicate and expensive, we find that younger patients tend to have more issues with them.
